Revive your late summer and autumn garden with the bold, bright colors of our Fireworks Dahlia Trio Collection. This combo features three Dahlias that are favorites here at the farm. The bright, showy, 4″, Cactus-form flowers of Dahlia ‘Karma Bon Bini’ are neon red with electric yellow centers. Originally bred for the cut-flower industry, the flowers arrive in multitudes on strong stems. The 4-6″ blossoms of Dahlia ‘Doctor P.H. Riedl’ are Decorative in form and they exude refinement in their structure and blend of orange shades. The aptly named Dahlia ‘Big Brother’ outsizes its companions. The Informal Decorative, Dinnerplate flowers measure 8-10″ and mix warm tones of yellow and caramel with traces of grenadine. Their loosely ruffled petals have a pleasing informality in the garden and in vases. All of these varieties are superb for cutting, and they offer the makings of stunning and effortless late-season bouquets. 3 tubers, 1 of each variety, labeled.
Dahlias are native to Mexico and South America, and hold their display in reserve for mid- to late summer and early fall. The genus offers incredible diversity of color and form and we offer dozens of varieties every year. Dahlias are perennial but not cold hardy – tubers can overwinter in the ground in Zone 8 or warmer; in colder climates tubers can be dug after frost and easily stored indoors over winter. Please note – Dahlias should be planted outside once the danger of frost has passed and soil temperature has reached approximately 60°. We ship tubers beginning in late March and they can be stored until planting time if necessary. For more information on growing Dahlias, click on the Growing Guide tab on this page.
