Part of the Sugar Buzz® series of compact, well-branched Monardas, ‘Grape Gumball’ produces a dome of purple flowers that attracts butterflies and bees. The deep green, mildew-resistant foliage emits a minty smell when crushed. Adding to its appeal, this Bee Balm spreads less aggressively than many other varieties. This North American genus has several species, all of which share tartly fragrant foliage and the square stems that typify members of the Mint family.
