Product Details
The plants in this fall collection were chosen because they take autumn’s cooler temperatures in stride. They will add seasonal color and texture to your outdoor spaces until a hard frost.
Like an autumn day at the fairgrounds, our Octoberfest Fall Collection mimics the colors and textures of the season. A compact New York Aster (Symphyotrichum ‘Wood’s Blue’) and petite Goldenrod (Solidago Little Lemon®) set the stage, evoking the classic New England fall landscape while attracting pollinators. An Ornamental Cabbage Osaka Red, Heuchera ‘Obsidian,’ and Japanese Forest Grass (Hakonechloa macra ‘All Gold’) introduce dramatic colors and textures to the mix, while an Ornamental Pepper ‘Purple Shades’ lends a touch of spice. This beautiful, fun fall combination will add delight to any doorstep in sun or part shade.

Some plants require more space in container gardens than others. To accommodate the 6 plants in this collection, we recommend a container at least 16″ in diameter and 12″ deep.
This collection is shown in our medium Franklin Park Round Pot, which is sold separately. Click to order.
If you choose to overwinter your plants, they will need a little special treatment. Although we can’t guarantee your plants’ successful return next year, here are our best recommendations.
In climates where winter temperatures drop well below freezing, containers should be dismantled in late fall. The Hakonechloa, Heuchera, Symphyotrichum, and Solidago are perennials and they can be planted in the ground. Simply discard the Cabbage and Pepper, which are annuals and will not survive in areas below 20°F. In mild-winter climates (Zone 8 and warmer), these plants can be left outdoors in containers.
