Polystichum Acrostichoides – Christmas Fern

Christmas Fern, Polystichum acrostichoides, is an evergreen, native species that is attractive year-round (more so in warmer zones than in colder ones where it may spend the winter under snow). The 2′ fronds are used widely in Christmas decorations. It thrives in shade and in woodland soil (where it is found in the wild), but will take some sun if kept damp.
