This sophisticated blend of pinks and golds features a bravura blend of colors, flower forms and sizes. The Dinnerplate Informal Decorative blossoms of Dahlia ‘Otto’s Thrill’ are large, showy blooms in shades of pink with paler petal tips. They are balanced in size by the bronze-gold, Dinnerplate Informal Decorative blossoms of RHS Award of Garden Merit winner Dahlia ‘Hamari Gold.’ Filling in between these giants are the Ball-form flowers of Dahlia ‘Zundert Mystery Fox,’ which combine shades of pink and orange before deepening to coral orange, and Dahlia ‘Jowey Winnie,’ with balls of warm pink exhibiting a radiant peach undertone and a hint of deep purple at the petal tips. Dahlias are native to Mexico and South America, and hold their display in reserve for mid- to late summer and early fall. The genus offers incredible diversity of color and form and we offer dozens of varieties every year. Dahlias are perennial but not cold hardy – tubers can overwinter in the ground in Zone 8 or warmer; in colder climates tubers can be dug after frost and easily stored indoors over winter. Please note – Dahlias should be planted outside once the danger of frost has passed and soil temperature has reached approximately 60°.
